Ralph Duckett
MPAGB EFIAP APAGB
Ralph has lived all of his life near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, England and has been a keen photographer since a small boy.
Ralph has been a member of his local camera club, Burton on Trent Photographic Society for over 40 years. On first joining he was advised to learn the craft of darkroom printing and has gone on from strength to strength. He is a prolific photographer and his first love is landscape photography, though Ralph does take photographs of a great variety of subject matter. Ralph was reluctant to move over to digital printing and capture, only making the change when infrared film was discontinued and fewer exhibitions were accepting slides.
Achievements
Ralph has gained the highest standard of Masters in the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) accreditation and he is an EFIAP and BPE5. He is still an active club member and is currently the President of the Burton on Trent PS, a role he has held on two previous occasions and has run their members' Annual exhibition for over 20 years. In 1995 he was elected onto the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF) organising council, in 2001 he became joint chairman, with his wife Lu, of 'MidPhot' the MCPF’s annual club exhibition and still holds that post. In June 2012 Ralph took on the role of President of the MCPF for two years.
Ralph has won many awards over the years including a medal at the London Salon in 2017 and was included in the first Masters of Print book published by the PAGB in 2017. In 2019 Ralph became a member of the London Salon.
